Renovation to the existing lobby of a 15 floor tower downtown Edmonton. The building owner wanted a fresh update while keeping the original granite wall cladding and flooring.

Ceiling features and lighting design were essential to create the updated look. New lighting allowed the granite to shine rather than overwhelm the space as the dominant feature. Existing cove and gypsum board ceilings were removed and replaced. Backlit metal ceiling panels sparkle like a jewel, while suspended architectural lighting gives a sense of grandeur and wayfinding, drawing the visitor in to the main lobby area.

New wood panels flank the existing elevator lobbies giving that space a sense o purpose. To speak the same design language the new security desk was outfitted with a quartz top and transaction surface and plastic laminate for a warmer look.
